Privacy policy
What we collect when you visit, apply, work with us or use our HR platform, how we use it, who we share it with, and the choices you have.

Who we are
Borderless Work builds dedicated teams of developers and other professionals in Bangladesh for companies abroad, and makes an HR platform for hiring and managing remote teams. This policy covers borderlesswork.space: the website, the careers pages and application forms, Dev Space, the employee portal and the HR platform.
When another company uses our HR platform for its own team, that company decides what it collects about its applicants and employees and is responsible for it. We store and process that information for them, under this policy's security and sharing rules.
When you apply for a role
The application form asks for:
- Your name, email address, mobile number and city.
- Your education: level, institution, subject and graduation year.
- Your work: current status, experience level, a project you've worked on, and how you use AI tools.
- Your remote setup: internet, power backup, computer, a quiet place to work, overlapping hours and remote experience.
- When you can start, and whether the role's terms work for you.
- A link to your CV, and your GitHub, portfolio and LinkedIn links if you add them.
- Anything else you write in your note, and how you heard about us.
- Your consent, and whether you'd like to hear about future roles.
Interviews and tasks
If you move forward, we keep the interview's time and video call link, the link and note you send for an interview task, and our interviewers' notes and marks. You can sign in to Dev Space with a code we email you to follow your application.
To help us compare applications, the platform scores each one against the role with set criteria, and shows the reasons behind every point. It helps a person decide; it never makes the decision.
When your company contacts us
When you ask us to build a team, we keep what you tell us: your name, job title, work email and phone, your company's name, website, size and address, the roles you need and when, and any call you book with us.
When you work with us
Once you're hired, we keep what we need to employ you and to work with our clients:
- Your employment details: role, dates, contract terms, salary and the papers we send you.
- The details you give us in the employee portal: legal and preferred name, date of birth, gender, nationality, ID type and number, parents' names, blood group, addresses, personal email, phone and emergency contacts.
- Your bank account details, so you can be paid.
- Documents you upload, like ID, a photo, certificates, a tax number and letters from previous employers.
- When you sign or acknowledge a paper: the name you typed, the time, the statements you agreed to, and your IP address and browser.
- Attendance: when you start and end each shift, where you pressed Start and End (Dev Space or Slack), and the IP address it came from.
- Your work accounts: your Slack user, your GitHub username and your work email at the client you work with, and your pod and mentors.
From everyone who uses the site
- Emails you send us or that we send you, kept so replies stay in one conversation, and whether each was delivered.
- Sign-in details: your email, a password if you set one (stored only as a secure hash), and the one-time codes we email you.
- If you turn on notifications in your browser, the address your browser gives us to send them.
- Standard technical records our hosting keeps to run and protect the site, like IP addresses and the pages requested.
How we use it
- To review your application, arrange interviews and tell you the outcome.
- If you opted in, to invite you to apply for other roles later. Every such email has an unsubscribe link.
- To reply to companies who contact us and arrange calls with them.
- To employ you: send and keep your papers, record attendance, prepare pay stubs and get you paid.
- To run our client work, including the client's invoices.
- To keep accounts secure, prevent misuse, and meet our legal obligations.
We don't sell personal information, and we don't use it for advertising.
Google Calendar
Our admins can connect a Google account so the platform can schedule interviews. With that permission, the platform creates, changes and cancels the interview's event in that account's calendar, with a Google Meet link, and Google sends the invite to the people taking part. We keep the connected account's email address and an encrypted token for this. We don't read other events in the calendar.
Borderless Work's use and transfer of information received from Google APIs adheres to the Google API Services User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements. We don't use it for advertising, don't sell it, and don't use it to train AI models.
The account's owner can disconnect it on the platform at any time, or remove our access in their Google account settings.
How we keep it safe
Every page is served over HTTPS. ID numbers, bank account numbers, form drafts and portal links are encrypted in our database. Files like papers and documents are kept in private storage, with no public link, and each one is shown only to someone allowed to see it. Each person sees only what their role needs.
No system is perfectly secure. If a problem puts your information at risk, we'll tell you as the law requires.
How long we keep it
We keep an application while we're hiring for the role, and, if you opted in, so we can invite you to future roles. We keep employment records, like papers, attendance and pay stubs, for as long as we need them for the employment and as the law requires. You can ask us to delete your information at any time, and we'll delete what we don't have to keep.
Where it's stored
Our service providers may store and process information outside your country, including in the United States. We choose providers who protect it, and share only what each one needs.
Your choices
You can:
- Ask for a copy of the information we hold about you.
- Correct it. Employees can update most details in the employee portal.
- Ask us to delete it.
- Stop emails about future roles with the unsubscribe link in any of them.
- Turn off browser notifications in your browser's settings.
Write to [email protected] for any of these. We may need to confirm it's you first.
Children
Our services are for adults who are looking for work, working with us or hiring. We don't knowingly collect information from children.
Changes to this policy
When we change what we collect or how we use it, we'll update this page and the date at the top.
