Full job description

What you'll do

  • Take ownership of several small teams: set priorities, unblock people and keep delivery on track
  • Design and build backend services and APIs in Go
  • Build and guide frontend work in Next.js and React
  • Review pull requests and hold a high bar for code quality, security and tests
  • Write clear PRDs and technical specs, and turn them into plans the team can ship
  • Use AI tools like Claude, Codex and Cursor every day, and set good AI practices for the team
  • Mentor junior developers through code reviews and pairing

What we're looking for

  • 4+ years of professional software development experience
  • Strong experience building backend APIs in Go
  • Hands-on experience with Next.js (App Router) and React
  • Experience leading a team or owning the delivery of a project
  • Confident reviewing pull requests and giving clear, constructive feedback
  • Able to write clear PRDs and technical documents
  • Uses AI tools daily, and knows when to trust their output and when to check it
  • Good spoken and written English for client calls

Nice to haveNot required

  • PostgreSQL, Docker and a cloud platform (AWS, GCP or Vercel)
  • Building AI features with LLM APIs such as Claude or OpenAI
  • Experience working with clients in North America, the UK or Australia
